The European Union approved the first Integrated Project LIFE IP 4 NATURA, related to the natural environment and biodiversity in Greece, the one with the highest financing and duration which have been ever implemented in Greece
LIFE - IP 4 NATURA, "Integrated actions for the management of Natura 2000 sites, species, habitats and ecosystems in Greece” focused on the development and implementation of measures in accordance with the Prioritized Action Framework for Natura 2000 network.
The project will run for 8 years (2018-2025) with a total budget equal to 17.000.000€. The Ministry of Environment and Energy is the project coordinator while 9 partners also participate as project beneficiaries (Green Fund, University of Patra, Democritus University of Thrace,Decentralized Administration of Epirus - W. Macedonia, Region of Crete, Region of Attica,Region of E. Macedonia and Thrace, WWF-Greece and Hellenic Ornithological Society).
